{CONTINUE FROM THE LAST EPISODE}
CHIEF NNAMDI CONTINUE HIS STORYLINE

“She just took the coffee; no doubt she didn’t poison it, even if
she does; that means we are both going to die.” I thought, I was
about to drink the coffee when….
.
I was about to devour the coffee when I heard a footsteps from
behind, I look at the direction and it was Chioma coming back
from the kitchen; she was holding a tea cup, I looked her from
head to toe as if I just saw her for the first time, she was smiling
as she was approaching me, I lowered the coffee from my mouth
as she walked up to me.
“This is always good every morning, I’m always surprised that you
love taking coffee every morning, I think it’s high time I start
emulating you.” She said jokingly as she was pouring herself a
cup full of coffee from the kettle.
“Cheer, darling.” She said as I strengthen my hand forward and
we cheer the tea cup.
She devour the coffee within a nanull second, I was just looking
at her, she pick up the kettle of coffee as she pour herself another
cup full of coffee.

She had succeeded in convincing me, I mustered some courage to
devour the coffee, I drank the coffee earnestly and it really taste
good, I fetch myself another cup full and I also devour it within a
glimmer of an eyes.

{sigh}
.
“Had I know I would have heeded to the warning of the doctor.”
My spirit exclaimed as he (my spirit) nodded his head in detention;
but true to be say; I wasn’t myself; my brain seems to be blank; I
fell more in love with Chioma as if I just saw her for the first
time; she seems to be more beautiful to me than ever before, I
wasn’t able to think of anything else except her, the doctor
warnings was nowhere to be remembered, I was totally brain-
washed; who knows what she has done?

{BACK TO THE SCENE}
Chioma changed position after she saw that I had successfully
devour the coffee; she walked to the sofa she had sat earlier, she
sat on the sofa and she continued watching her TV show, I also
joined her in watching the boring movie, we were gisting, chatting
and discussing on some irrelevant issues. Some minutes later, I
feel some stomach pain, it seems like a sword was piercing my
kidneys, lungs and heart, I felt some pains in my stomach; the
pains developed gradually to become unbearable, I groaned in
pain when it seems that I can’t be able to endure the pains any
longer.
“Chioma!” I screamed when the pains has become unbearable,
she looked at me and turn back to her TV show. Later on, after
one minute of my groaning in pains, I fell down from the sofa, I
was rolling on the floor, I was screaming for help but it seems no
one was there to help me, just then Chioma stood up from the
sofa and walked up to me.

“Idiot! Do you think I am such a nuisance like you, you saw the
message, hehe! Does that stop your death? No! And it can never
stop your death; I saw you all through yesterday night only if I
won’t talk; I knew how and when you read the message, I saw
your reaction, how you forwarded the message to your doctor and
your lawyer.” She paused as she took a deep breath.
“I am a mother and not a wife, my staying here is just because of
my two children, I want them to inherit all your properties and
that is my reasons of staying here.” She paused.
“Aaaaaarrrggghh
to be interested in me.
“I know you are such an old fool and dumb, I drank the poisoned
coffee, does that means that I will die? No and never I can’t die
now.” She exclaimed. “Anyway, I am not an idiot like you I had
token the anti-dote, I will only advice you to stop disturbing
yourself and let the poison work perfectly because no one is at
home to help you.” She paused.
“I am only sorry for your innocent Nnena, because she isn’t the
one that poisoned you, I did but she must be held responsible for
your dismissal.” She exclaimed as she moved in a zig-zag
manner.
“It was a well-planned works between me, your lawyer and your
doctor, I texted your doctor to called you, I knew if he call you,
you will excuse yourself from the sitting room, then I poisoned
your coffee when you went to received the call; I cajoled your
lawyer to will all your properties to me, Chinendu and Chiamaka.”
She paused.
“I never knew I marry such a smart and wonderful husband, well
I am a woman and I remain a woman; we women are devil itself,
no matter how strong a person might be, a sensible, intelligent
and brilliant woman hadn’t been sent to such person to suppress
or kill such person myth; I knew you must have heard about
Samson’s story in the bible, it was a woman that succeeded in
suppressing his power, we women win wars without using guns,
spears, swords or any forms of weapons. Well, I see no reason
why you should live since you had diverted all the love you had
for me and my children, you had diverted it on Nnena and Obinna
that bastard.” She yelled.
“Nnena will definitely rot in jail and she can’t escape that; she
served the coffee, no other person, so he poisoned my late
husband.” She said laughing.
“Obinna on the other hand, have to pay for all the harsh words he
had uttered to me because of that upcoming prisoner (Nnena), he
knew me as his mother, I also want him to know how painful it is
to talk trash to one’s foster mother.” Chioma expressed.
“Chief Nnamdi Richard! Rest in peace.” She concluded as she
opted for the master bedroom.

Lo and behold it was Nnena; she was holding a polythene bag
which contains all the items Mrs. Chioma sent her to get, she
tossed the polythene bag as she reluctantly run up to Chief
Nnamdi who was lying unconsciously and he was also groaning in
pain.
“Chief, what’s wrong? Who did this to you?” She asked
allegorically as she was trying to help the Chief up.
The Chief was unable to utter a word, he looked at Nnena with
pitiful looks, he held Nnena firmly as he burst out in tears just
then Mrs. Chioma came back to the sitting room.
“What happened to my husband?” She asked spuriously; she
pretended as if she didn’t know anything about the incident.
“I don’t know ma, I met him here lying unconscious.” Nnena
replied as she was struggling with the unconscious chief.
“Let take him to the hospital.” Mrs. Chioma commanded as she
joined Nnena to convey the chief to the car.
Few minutes after their arrival at the hospital; Obinna, Chinendu
and Chiamaka barged into the hospital, they couldn’t believe their
hears when their mother narrated to them that Nnena poisoned
the Chief.

THE HOSPITAL AND HOW MRS. CHIOMA PROCLAIMED NNENA

HOW CHIEF NNAMDI WAS CONVEY INTO THE MORTUARY.

“Hmmmm, that is life for all of you!” Chief Nnamdi exclaimed.
“But dad, you were admitted into the mortuary we all witness
that, how did you managed to survive after you were warded into
the mortuary.” Obinna asked eagerly as he adjusted his position.
“Hmmm!” Chief Nnamdi exclaimed as he continued.

“Some nurses accompanied my lifeless body to the mortuary, they
handed me over to the mortuary workers, A male mortuary worker
was about to dressed me when he felt my pulse; he looked all
over my body and he could see one of the left leg finger moving
and shaking, he was shocked at first; but as a trained mortuary
doctor he summoned some courage to examined my pulse a little
and it seems this lifeless body is still half-alive, the mortuary
doctor summoned the doctors-in-wait
all busy attending to one patient or the others, he thought for a
while, he later opted for administering first aid on me, he brought
out some office pins, he injected over fifty pins all over my body
including my noses and ears; he was piercing and pinning my body
with his fingers; he is doing this just to make my body to response
to stimuli on time.” Chief Nnamdi paused.
“After Nnena was arrested, Mrs. Chioma was summoned into the
doctor’s office, the doctor consoled my wife, he impacted some
moral on her and he sympathized with her.
“Doctor, does that insinuate that I can never see my healthy and
beloved husband alive?” She asked as she burst out in tears.
“Just take heart Madam, God knows the reasons behind this,
Chief Nnamdi was my good friend when he was alive, I’m his
personal doctor; I tried all my best as a professional and well-
trained doctor to rescue his life but it seems the poison has
ingested his hearts and kidneys.” Doctor Akin (the doctor name)
commiserated.
“Ah! God what have I done to deserve this?” Mrs. Chioma
screamed as she paved way for more tears from her eyes.
“Just take heart Madam, hope the murderer has been arrested?”
Doctor Akin asked.
“Yes, some policemen had arrested her some minutes ago.” Mrs.
Chioma replied sobbingly.
“That’s good; I will make sure she rots in jail.” Doctor Akin
retorted boastfully.

“Ah! God what you have done for me this time is unfair.” Mrs.
Chioma yelled as she was rolling on the well mopped powder blue
tile.
“Madam, what…” Doctor Akin was unable to finish with his
statement when he heard a knock from the door.
“Who’s that? Please come in, the door is not lock.” Doctor Akin
asked, commanded and concluded at the same time.
The door was unlocked; Alas! It was Ben (the mortuary man).
“Good day, Dr. Akin.” Ben greeted.
“Good day Mr. Ben, hope there is no problem, I see you here?” he
expressed suspiciously.
“Not at all Sir, I just want to let you know that the patient whom
we warded into the mortuary some minutes ago is not dead; he is
in coma and he is totally unconscious.” Ben voiced out as Mrs.
Chioma raised her eyebrow in disbelief.
